As If We Don’t Give The Little Thieves Enough

May 29, 2008

If this is not the most asinine thing you ever heard, then I don’t know what is. As a current production manager with roughly 100 employees under me, I know what a nightmare it can be when a citizen with no integrity decides to get “injured” in an attempt to collect work comp benefits.

Now Michelle Malkin shows that illegals–you know, those people who sneak into our country illegally–are eligible for work comp benefits in several states.

Let’s think about this a second. Does our nation need yet another reminder of what “illegal” means? I’ll try to use small words. Illegal means–wait for it–WRONG. UNLAWFUL. NOT ALLOWED. Can you all say it with me? ILLLLLEEEEEEGAL.

These mounds of cow chips masquerading as legislators need to get their shizara together, because otherwise we’re screwed. Say goodbye to life as you knew it, folks. The illegals are taking over.

Tucson and San Diego Highest For Border Violence

May 14, 2008

This scary little factoid made me shake my head for the 1,000,000th time and wonder what Bush is thinking.

There have been 362 assaults against officers during the first four months of 2008, according to Border Patrol statistics. The pattern has been that when more security resources are deployed along the U.S. border, violence against officers spike in response.

Most assaults are along the San Diego and Calexico, Calif., border, as well as the Arizona border near Yuma and south of Tucson.

Illegals Are Trashing Our Land

May 7, 2008

Arizona Layup Trashed by IllegalsFor all of you idiots who still, inexplicably, think McCain’s border policy is feasible (or ANY border policy that allows illegals to come here at any time for any reason), should read this article. Better yet, just look at the pictures.
Arizona Layup Trashed by Illegals
As you can see, there is a problem here. Still think they’re just coming here for a better life? No, they’re turning the United States into a third world country. If you don’t see that, you’re blind.

Third World America

April 22, 2008

Vox Day, who is one of the best columnists out there (and a hottie to boot), brings this disturbing tidbit from yesterday:

Los Angeles is at the leading edge of a U.S. demographic trend, with half of its workforce immigrants, many of them unskilled and speaking little English. As baby boomers retire, the same pattern will emerge across the country, the Los Angeles Times reported Sunday. Demographers estimate that by 2025 most of the growth in the workforce will be from immigrants….

“The question is: Are we going to be a 21st century city with shared prosperity, or a Third World city with an elite group on top and the majority at poverty or near poverty wages?”

Vox does give us some good news, however.

Well, at least they’ll all vote Republican, because we have been assured by the Republican party leadership and their intellectual bodyguard that’s what illiterate Hispanics who don’t speak English do.

Yes, Virginia, there is a sarcasm meter, and it’s off the charts here.

Immigration Controls Make Baby Jesus Cry?

October 15, 2007

This article literally cracked me up–not just because the lefty preacher is an incurable idiot, but because Mark Tooley is freaking brilliant and I love his sarcasm. While a Methodist minister whines that those of us who want controls put in place to stem the tide of illegals are naughty little racists who aren’t being good Christians, Tooley splits the rock and sanity comes out.

If the experience of ancient Israel is any example, no one should think that the Hebrews routinely permitted large numbers of foreigners to permanently relocate into their land. Most of the sojourners in the Scriptures reference were travelers passing through or nomads looking for temporary nourishment for their livestock. Aliens with plans to remain indefinitely in ancient Israel were expected to live as Jews, worshipping the God of Abraham. The ancient Hebrews, with their stiff punishments for idolaters and pagans, were hardly open-border multiculturalists.

Preach it, brother.

Another Mexican Flag Flown Above Our Own

October 3, 2007

Uncle Jimbo at Blackfive says, “Some clown in Reno was flying his Mexican flag above the US flag at his cantina and a news crew stopping by to verify this illegal action caught a fine gentleman taking care of the situation the old-fashioned way.” He’s got the video.

Jimbo, a longtime friend of ER, is a “pro-amnesty type.” We respectfully and vehemently disagree with his position. However, in honor of him being a fellow cheesehead and Green Bay Packer fan (as well as just a hilarious guy to be around), we won’t hold his immigration position against him. This time.

A New Direction for America… Backwards.

June 16, 2006

Guest post by Part-Time Pundit.

Today, after months of waiting, the Democrats have come up with an agenda for 2006. First, some noticeably missing items.

Iraq. For as much as the Democrats continue to criticize the President’s mishandling of the war, the peace, or whatever you want to call it, their direction does not highlight any meaningful alternative. How do they believe a free and secure Iraq should be created? Well, if Murtha has his way, apparently by surrendering to Al Qaeda.

National security. Apparently terrorism is not a problem because the polar ice caps are melting. Perhaps we were mistaken, it wasn’t planes that flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11, it was chunks of ice from the North Pole. So while they are ignoring national security, they’re stumping for Gore’s movie.

Immigration. Millions of immigrants took to the streets in protest in recent months. Millions more legal residents have also made their views known. No matter where you stand, this is one of the most charged and important issues on the minds of the people, and on this issue the Democrats are silent.

Moving on to some of the core items of the Democrats platform from items that simply haven’t been on the public radar to making current problems worse…

Raising minimum wage. Despite the fact that every time the minimum wage has been raised unemployment has gone up; they believe that having no job is better than being paid some less than some arbitrary number. There are more intelligent ways to get people earning enough to provide for their families, raising the minimum wage isn’t one of them. There is a finite amount of money in circulation, those wage increases need to be paid for somehow. It ends up being either lay offs, cut benefits, higher prices (and cost of living), or a combination of all three.

Price gouging. Who isn’t against price gouging? However, for as much as that legal term has been thrown around, there has not been any evidence provided to support that it is happening. After about two years of hearing that companies are breaking the law to stick it to Joe Consumer, I’d expect that someone would be able to prove it to nail their ass to the wall for it. However, after two years of complaining they haven’t found any evidence, it is doubtful that giving them a majority will accomplish anything except more hearings with legislators bloviating on TV so it looks like they are “doing something”.

Fiscal responsibility. One of the most appealing parts of the platform is restoring fiscal responsibility, however, the likely way of doing this will be to increase income to the treasury, not reducing spending. One of the key items to pay attention is that they specifically reference the fiscal discipline of the 90s… i.e. when Congress was run by Republicans. Cutting taxes is one thing, you have to cut spending along with it. At least on this point the Democrats are intellectually honest. They’ll at least raise taxes to pay for their spending. If we want to talk about fiscal responsibility, let’s start with earmark reform.

Slash student loan costs. This is pandering at its worst because student loans are almost essentially free. I know, because I have them. My wife’s student loans are consolidated for an APR of 1.65%. In other words, I could take the money, put it in a savings account, and use the interest to pay off the loan and still turn a profit on the loan. I know students who take student loans for the express purpose of using that money and investing it earning 8%+. Student loans are an incredible deal. Inflation is about 3%, which makes those loans essentially trivial interest. The only thing that could be done to make those loans cheaper would be to pay students interest for taking them out.

Stop tax giveaways for outsourcing. If by tax-giveaways you mean that other countries don’t tax the crap out of companies like we do, than you’re right. However, how exactly are you going to start taxing companies that aren’t in the US? Tariffs? Bring the entire world under the United States tax structure? No one is paying businesses to leave the US and outsource, it’s simply far cheaper to hire labor overseas in some industries.

Stop wasteful subsidies, Support stem-cell research. These two items are directly at odds. If there are wasteful subsidies, by all means eliminate them. However, funding stem-cell research (particularly embryonic which is what they are talking about) is in itself a wasteful subsidy. Adult stem cell research is curing people, it works. Private money is coming in hand over fist for adult stem cell research. Embryonic stem cell research does not work, which is why they have no investors and need a handout. While it might give the Democrats yet another chance to kill millions more babies and start treating people less as human beings and more as crops to be cultivated for parts, it remains that this science doesn’t work.

The Democratic platform here doesn’t address most of the issues important to Americans. The three top issues are Iraq, gas prices, and immigration for Congress. Health care is low on the list. Social security is absent. Stem cell research is absent. The minimum wage is absent.

Once again, we’re faced with a party unwilling to tackle the big issues that Americans care about. It would be nice in 2006 to have a real choice between candidates, and it looks like the Democratic party has deprived us once again.

Immigration Crackdown in Michigan

June 9, 2006

Finally, some good news about immigration.

They called it Operation Motor City, and for five days, federal agents working late-night shifts in unmarked cars shadowed illegal immigrants living in towns and cities across southeast Michigan.

By Wednesday, 63 immigrants — most of them from Eastern European countries and ranging in age from 10 to 60 — were in the process of being deported in one of the largest roundups yet in an ongoing effort to clear Michigan and Ohio of an estimated 4,500 illegal immigrants.

“This was just one operation, and there will be more in the future,” said Rob Baker, director of detention and removal operations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Detroit.

Twenty-five of the people targeted during the latest operation, which lasted from May 31 to Sunday, were from Albania, while eight were from Macedonia, officials said. The rest were from 13 other countries.

Still think illegal immigration is just poor, sweet Mexicans looking for a better life for their families?

America Says “YES! Speak ENGLISH!”

Do businesses have the right to demand their customers speak English?

That’s the current FOX poll, and the results are overwhemingly in favor of telling businesses that they can demand English from customers.

a. Yes (82%)
31,622

b. No (16%)
6,184

c. Not sure (2%)
570

38,376 total votes

Eat that, Bush. Then again, people like Bush and groups like LaRaza don’t give a crap about what the American people think.

Seventeen Terrorists Arrested in Montreal

June 3, 2006

Terrorists “inspired by al-Qaida” were arrested in Montreal with three times the amount of ammonium nitrate used to blow up the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995.

Officials showed evidence of bomb making materials, a computer hard drive, camouflage uniforms and what appears to be a door with bullet holes in it at a news conference Saturday morning.

“This group took steps to acquire three tons of ammonium nitrate and other components necessary to create explosive devices,” said assistant Royal Canadian Mounted Police commissioner Mike McDonell said.

These animals were planning to blow up targets in southern Ontario such as “CSIS’s downtown office near the CN Tower,” say officials.

Here’s the interesting part:

Intelligence officials believe at least 50 terror groups now have some presence in the North American nation and have long complained that the country’s immigration laws and border security are too weak to weed out potential terrorists.

What’s that? Officials think Canada’s immigration laws and border security are directly linked to the number of terrorists in the country? Nice. Tell me again why Bush refuses to see even the most basic of concepts.

Democratic Congressional Candidate Tells Illegals To Vote Without Papers

June 3, 2006

Francine Busby, who’s running for the 50th District of California, told a group yesterday that “you don’t need papers for voting.”

Don’t believe me? Listen to the audio. Ian has it.

Dems are actively courting the illegal vote–a vote they shouldn’t have because they are illegal aliens! My G-d, it’s not rocket science here, people. Illegal = illegal.

Update: Busby is now playing catch-up, alternating between claiming she “simply misspoke” and calling the obvious interpretation of her words a “last-minute, desperate ploy” by Republicans to make her look bad. She says what she meant was that people who were under 18 did not have to be registered voters to help with the campaign. Sure, Francine. We know what you meant. We’re not Republicans (anymore), but we knew exactly what you meant.

…The Preservation Of Our Liberty…

June 2, 2006

From the Vanishing American:

As I write this, it seems to me that our country is in dire peril. Our traditions, our way of life, which are uniquely American, are now being undermined and eroded. Our sovereignty is under attack. I could go on enumerating the challenges we are up against, but we know them all too well, those of us who care deeply about our country and our people.

But the biggest danger sign to me is that we seem to have lost our representative form of government. It appears as though ‘we, the people’ are no longer the repositories of power in our country. ‘Our’ leaders apparently no longer answer to us; they seem not only to be operating outside the will of the American people, but in open and brazen defiance of the will of the people.

There is no better evidence of this than the current borders crisis, in which ‘our’ leaders defiantly refuse to control our borders and enforce the laws of the land. The fact that they have forced this ‘amnesty’ atrocity on us, and our seeming helplessness in trying to stop the open borders juggernaut, suggests that our elected officials have gone rogue. We no longer seem to have representation, except for a few isolated voices in Congress. And one wonders if even these voices in the wilderness will eventually ‘compromise’ away what is left of our sovereignty. There is less faith in our system and our ‘leadership’ than at any time in my memory.

Since we, the people, seem no longer relevant to our electeds, who exactly are they beholden to? Whose bidding are they doing, since they are obviously not doing ours? There are many possible answers to that question. Without wandering into ‘tinfoil hat’ territory and indulging in conspiracy-theory-mongering, it’s hard to explain the behavior of our electeds.

The great Thomas Jefferson said, in 1787, ‘The people are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.’ It is so important to remember this; we can’t expect the government to solve the problem when it seems that our leaders are compromised, and they are part of the problem.

But if Jefferson was right (and he usually was), then it’s up to us, you and me, America.

Read the whole thing.

Lady Liberty’s Thong Says “NO” to Illegals

May 31, 2006

This one made me chuckle. I’d have flat-out laughed, but it’s 0600 right now.

SOUTH TOLEDO — A south Toledo man is using a replica of the Statue of Liberty to let the world know his thoughts on illegal immigration. Art Bollinger says he got this idea from an e-mail he received, and decided to duplicate the picture.

From the front, you can see the Statue of Liberty. From behind, it shows Lady Liberty’s behind, in a thong bikini. The nearby sign says “Kiss my American Ass.”

Bollinger tells News 11 he will accept anyone into this country as long as they come here legally, but he has no patience for those who sneak in. “You don’t have rights. You are here illegally,” said Bollinger of the people who cross the border without permission. “If I break the law, I go to prison. You break the law and the American government says they’ll kiss your behind. No. That’s ridiculous.”

The US Senate bill passed last week would tighten the border, offer a guest worker programs to bring in new foreign workers and provide a chance at citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants already in the country. The US House bill generally is limited to border enforcement and cracking down on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Negotiators from both chambers will try to reconcile the differences and agree on a compromise.

Bollinger says his wife is from Russia and he had to jump through all kinds of hoops and pay for the process of her becoming a US citizen. He feels everyone else should do the same.

Amen, amen.

White House Compares Illegal Immigration To A Traffic Ticket

May 26, 2006

SNOW JOB #12 or 13, whichever…he hasn’t been at the White House too long.

Via the Examiner:

The White House on Friday said a Senate bill that would grant legal status to illegal immigrants is analogous to a traffic law that allows a speeder to pay a fine and continue driving.

“If you had a traffic ticket and you paid it, you’re not forever a speeder, are you?” White House Press Secretary Tony Snow said in response to questions from The Examiner.

“So the fact is, you have paid your debt to society,” he added. “And we have come up with a way to make sure that the debt to society gets paid. Then you move forward.”

Hmph. Izzat so? I tell ya, November cannot get here too soon. As for Bush, I guess we just have to grit our teeth and endure until ‘08, when we can elect an Independent by an unprecedented margin.

Senate Amnesty: Can’t Fire Illegals, Just Citizens

May 26, 2006

It’s been making small news in the MSM and smaller news in the blogosphere–then again, I might just be late to the party–but the Senate bill passed yesterday giving amnesty to millions of illegals has some extra little goodies in it. Mickey Kaus has been talking about it, and so has Kate O’Beirne of NRO.

Here’s the gist of the points:

Foreign guest farm workers, admitted under the bill, cannot be ”terminated from employment by any employer … except for just cause.”

Please note that American agricultural workers can be fired for any reason. In fact, many American workers can be fired for any reason.

But it gets better.

It extends the Davis-Bacon Act’s requirement for the payment of ”prevailing wage” to all temporary guest workers. That puts them ahead of Americans, who have this protection only on federal job sites.

Here’s the icing on the alien-infested cake:

The bill supposedly would protect American workers by ensuring that new immigrants would not take away jobs. However, the bill’s definition of ”United States worker” includes temporary foreign guest workers, so the protection is meaningless.

Kate O’Beirne explains the big picture:

Among the little-noticed provisions in the Senate bill is one that shatters the economic rationale for millions of new unskilled, affordable foreign workers. When a bill depends on Democratic votes for passage, the unions are empowered to transform the business community’s demand for “cheap labor” into a guarantee that guest-workers will be among the most costly labor in the workforce.

The bill extends Davis-Bacon “prevailing wage” provisions—typically the area’s union wage that applies only to construction on federal projects under current law—to all occupations (e.g. roofers, carpenters, electricians, etc.) covered by Davis-Bacon. So guest-workers (but not citizen workers) must be paid Davis-Bacon wage rates for jobs in the private sector if their occupation is covered by Davis-Bacon. Presumably because Senate Democrats’ union bosses thought this provision too modest, an amendment by Senator Barack Obama, approved by voice vote, extended Davis-Bacon wages rates to all private work performed by guest workers, even if their occupations are not covered by Davis-Bacon.

So let’s tally this up. We have people supporting “cheap labor” because “Americans won’t do the work.” Meanwhile, illegal immigrants will be given higher (and protected) wages AND be insulated from being fired in most cases, while American, taxpaying citizens of this country get less.

How in the Sam Hill does THAT work?

Our government truly betrayed us to a pack of thieving wolves. November cannot come soon enough.
