The Creed - Video

It’s that time of week when I try to post awesome military videos or footage. I’ve posted video of the Infantry, Pararescue, Artillery, Helos, Harriers, Bomb Saddam, etc., etc. No matter where I find ‘em - they’re all kick-ass. Grouchy is usually my go-to source, but there hasn’t been anything new in awhile. Until NOW! Imagine my delight when I found his latest!

This is video from the New Jersey National Guard Recruitment Center. These are our citizen soldiers in training. We owe huge kudos to the National Guard - citizens who have taken selfless service to our nation to the highest level possible! They are carrying a lion’s share of duty in the Middle East right now. I admire them tremendously. I’m posting this NG video in honor of one of best friends serving in Kuwait right now, MAJ Guthrie, and to the Lean Mean Infantry Machine, SGT Peabody, who will be deploying this summer. Hooah, National Guard!

I think the best part of this video is the Soldier’s Creed…man, that brings back memories…

Jobs Americans Won’t Do????!

Raymond Herrera, a Hispanic American and proud Vietnam veteran, was just booted off his contracting job because the contractor hired a crew of illegals. He is steaming mad. He says that the politicans’ favorite “jobs American won’t do” claim is a MYTH! This has been happening to him for a decade, and he can’t take it anymore.

He created a video for our so-called Senatorial leaders about the amnesty bill. He says, “HELL NO!” to amnesty. It’s already impossible for him to get work as an American tradesman - and he says that illegals are stealing the future of our children. He and his family have long paid their dues in patriotic service to this country, and they’re being tossed aside in favor of illegals with no sacrifice, service, or loyalty to our country.

Raymond Herrera is furious - and he’s speaking from the heart. Just watch…

Pararescue - Video

Larry Dumlao, from the 56th Rescue Squadron’s pararescue team in Iceland, sent in this video he filmed, edited, and starred in. It features video he shot using his home video camera and a helmet-cam from helmetcamera.com. He made it in between moving from Iceland to Virgina, and now teaches personnel recovery operations and training for the DoD.

He’s got a quite an interesting career and did a fantastic job on this video using “This is the new sh*t” by Marilyn Manson. Hopefully the explicit lyrics won’t prevent too many people from seeing his great work.

Friday Funny - Video

This hilarious video comes via Alhamedi, The Religious Policeman (whose blog tagline is: the diary of a Saudi man, currently living in the United Kingdom, where the Religious Police no longer trouble him for the moment). His wife offers some helpful tips below for the genteel burqa-crowd.

1. When forced to wear a veil in public, don’t eat spaghetti. Same for soup, ice cream, spare ribs, cream cakes. Burgers and donuts are the best bet, forget your waistline for a moment.

2. The “up and under” technique (lift veil and shovel in food from below) looks more decorous but in practice can be messier. Also you never can tell whether you have strands of spaghetti sticking to your chin and dangling down below the bottom of the veil.

3. The “out and in” technique (pull out eye slit and lower food in from above) looks less ladylike but is actually more practical. Not only do you savor the smell of bolognese sauce as it makes its way past your nostrils, but if you jut your lower jaw out far enough you can guarantee a 100% capture rate).

4. Use lots of napkins. Otherwise you end up looking like you’re in a Tarantino movie.
