2005: I gotta say, the huge cheer for the SCOTUS justices just warmed my heart. Eat it, Kennedy. Eat it until you puke it up with your bourbon.
2007: YEAH. Big cheers for the man!
2008: I’d hate having to shake all those hands. I’d be walking that aisle saying, “Yeah you’re a prick…Yeah, you too…oh, here, I’ve got a big “kiss my ass” for you too…yeah, bitch…”
2011: HA! Look at the Dems and their little golf claps. Secretly they’re all staring at Alito and muttering under their breath.
2012: First up, a nod to Coretta Scott King. Nicely put.

2023: The decision to bring troops home “will be made by military commanders, not by politicians in Washington, DC.” Amen. Shut up, Murtha.
2025: Wow. He’s really taking it to them. “We must keep our word, defeat our enemies, and stand behind the American military…” hell yes. I love this. I have goosebumps. ;)
2026: Oh my GOD. The soldier letter is amazing. I will get the quote later. That soldier’s parents are in the audience. Bless them. Okay now I’m crying.

2030: “Hamas must recognize Israel…disarm, and work for peace…” They won’t of course, so we’ll end up having to go spank them too. (I hope.)

2050: 75% reduction on foreign oil dependence by 2025. This gets both sides standing. he’s announcing an “American Competitive Initative.”
2052: Why does the Muslim woman next to Laura look so disgruntled? Oh, I know! it’s because her neck is sweating.
2053: Crime rates are down to lowest rates since 1970s. Welfare cases have dropped. Drug use is down. There are fewer abortions now than in the last 30 years. (of course, one is too many.)
2056: Oh, yes. let’s bring up gay marriage too. Wait, wait…don’t change subjects…”Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve…” Come on, just let me hear ONE president in my lifetime say that phrase. lol

Kennedy Missed His Calling

His outstanding performance on the floor of the Senate was simply extraordinanry, and I watched in amazement and with a nagging sense of familiarity. It was about the third time his voice cracked on a high-pitched screech that I realized that Kennedy had truly missed his calling…
Ted Kennedy was meant to be a televangelist. He was full of hellfire and brimstone!! His arms were flailing, his voice was cracking, and the spittle was flying - all this while hollering at the top of his lungs and pounding on the podium. What a sight!
“If Judge Alito is confirmed to the Supreme Court, the world as we know it will end! Our founding fathers wrote slavery into the Constitution* and Alito will bring it back!! Women will no longer be able to get jobs! Their rights to privacy will be stripped away!! The disabled will be thrown out on the streets and no longer considered part of the American family! ACLU Raises the Stakes

In a move calculated to disparage the President at any cost, the ACLU has taken out a full-page ad in the pro-terrorism NY Times to publicly call the President a criminal.
Stop the ACLU has the ad copy, as well as info from the ACLU’s website.
What really angers me about this is that regular, everyday Americans are not being spied on, regardless of what the ACLU and frightened moonbats are screaming. No one’s listening to my phone conversations. No one’s peeking in my windows. No one gives two craps about what I do or say. Those who are being listened to are already on a watch list. They are ALREADY known terrorism supporters or associates. They are ALREADY linked to terrorism.
Of course, truth doesn’t matter when you’re talking to dhimmicrats. They just make up what they want anyway.

Jill Carroll, the kidnapped Christian Science reporter, was shown in video footage “obtained” by al Jazeera. Her head was covered like a good Muslima and she was weeping (understandable). No doubt it’s been a rough few weeks - and it all started out so well. I wonder if she’s a little disillusioned with her hosts yet, or if she still admires those “freedom fighters”?

I can honestly say I have never read any crap written by Arianna Huffington - until now. What caused this momentary dip into the sludgy cesspool of the Left? I did it for the soldier from this notable milblog: Firepower Forward. Firepower5, currently stationed in Afghanistan and clearly in a position to know a tad about the situation there, was moved enough to write an open letter in response to one of her posts. Naturally, I intended to render some fire support, so I sidled down the evolutionary ladder of reason and into the primordial muck, where I found Arianna huddled with this: Will A Stable Afghanistan Be Yet Another Casualty of the War in Iraq? (Like she cares, right?)
Killer Mom Is Sorry. So What?

Paula Eleazar Mendez is behind bars after murdering her 8-year-old and her 6-year-old twins. The idea that this woman could get less than the death penalty makes me want to scream.
“She has tremendous remorse. She is deeply sorry,” he said. “She asked for our prayers and forgiveness because she is realizing how much she has hurt the community, as well.”
Well, all the remorse in the world isn’t going to bring back her kids, now, will it?
This woman needs to be punished for her crimes, and there is no punishment that fits more than a lethal injection. (Well, unless you count being smothered or poisoned, since that’s what she did to her children…)
Hamas Wants Money From the Infidels

Hamas is on a begging spree. They’ve asked the international community not to cut its funding saying that “Cutting off funds now will be a punishment of the Palestinian people, not of Hamas.” Of course, they apparently think we’ve forgotten how Hamas got into power in the first place. (Hint for the moonbats: The Palestinians elected them.)
On Sunday, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice ruled out any U.S. financial aid to a Hamas government. But she indicated the Bush administration would follow through on aid promised to the current, U.S.-backed Palestinian government led by President Mahmoud Abbas, who was elected separately last year.
Right, because we all know none of that money would ever get into Hamas’ hands. How could I think such a thing?
Bombs Defused Near U.S. Embassy

The United States Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan narrowly missed being bombed today. Two roadside bombs were found 300 yards from the compound and defused by police commandos.
Meanwhile, a car bomber was foiled near Kandahar Airfield, the main U.S. base in south Afghanistan.
The Marines who guard our nation’s embassies abroad are incredibly well-trained, capable, and diligent. Theirs is a thankless job. I’m proud of my Marine and the job he did overseas while on Marine Security Guard duty. My thoughts and prayers are with all the MSGs worldwide.
An Open Letter To Illegal Immigrants

So for a complementary viewpoint, but with a lighter touch, go read it all. It’s worth it. [Emphasis below is mine]
Now…let me address mi amigos that want to move into our amazing Land-O-Plenty: Would you mind immigrating legally and learning English? Because, you see, our legal citizens are getting increasingly fed up with your criminal relocation dreams. That’s right. Our American buddies on the Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas borders are especially sick of . . .
• Having their land trashed like a hotel room after Motley Crew spent the weekend there. [One Indian Reservation picks up trash to the tune of six tons a day. Would you please stop that? It’s rude, and it’s threatening the existence of a certain lizard and the Sonoran Pronghorn antelope. Thanks.]
• Having their ranches’ fencing routinely cut and vandalized.
• Having to pick up your pill bottles, used needles and syringes.
• Having to find the half eaten remains of their pets left from one of your impromptu BBQ’s.
• Having their homes burglarized.
• Having their daughters raped.
• Having their vehicles stolen.
• Having their property value plummet.
• Having their sedate streets become unsafe requiring their children to be placed under lock and key after sunset.
• Having to pick up and discard Muslim prayer rugs and literature strafed about the place. [BTW . . . when did so many Catholic Mexicans convert to Islam? I didn’t get that brief. Would you explain that to me?]
• Having the arduous and unpleasant chore of scraping human feces off their front lawns in the morning.Call us Americans fastidious, but we no likey the aforementioned; and the above is not causing us to take a shining to your desires to resettle here.
Let me help would-be Mexican immigrants understand exactly where we’re coming from. Our nation’s leniency regarding immigration has been used as a night stick to whup our own butt. Our nation’s compassionate openness, plus the corrupt incompetence of the former INS, plus our government’s greed for foreign capital equaled a rolled-out welcome mat for the 9/11 terrorists and other thieves and thugs who looked to use us while they attempted to destroy us. So excuse us, por favor, if we don’t seem too giddy about receiving new guests into our home; we’re still cleaning up after the last ones who tried to destroy the place.
Look, if you want to come here and visit, work or possibly live in the US of A, you must understand that it is a privilege. Be very clear on one fact: it is NOT a right. We don’t have to do anything.
In addition, we want people who dream the American dream [once again, in English], who crave what we crave and who will approach us respectfully, legally and . . . if you don’t mind terribly . . . pardon my redundancy, in English. And get this straight: our demand for a more stringent border has nothing—nothing!—to do with xenophobia. Rather, it is rooted in a love for our country. We like it here. We see it as a privilege and an honor to live here. And we want to make sure that when letting others join us in this privilege and honor, we are rewarding the credible who have waited, not the criminal who has manipulated. Hamas, Left, It’s All the Same

The only differences between the Left and Hamas are really simple.
1) Unlike the Left, Hamas is open about its evil intentions, says Mark Steyn.
2) Moonbats haven’t figured out bombmaking yet.
In the wake of Hamas terrorists winning the election in “We stole this land from the Jews”-land, people have scrambled to figure out what the angle is. What will Hamas do?
The thing is, they don’t make any bones about what their purpose is. Meanwhile, everyone’s freaking out about Joel Stein’s trip out of the “support the troops” closet like it’s some earth-shattering revelation. Conservatives have been saying for a long time now that liberals don’t support the troops.
Liberals love to talk about the “oppressed” Palestinian people, and their fight against “Zionist imperialists,” acting like if Palestinians were given half a chance, they would embrace peace for themselves and their future generations. Steyn explains why the whole thing is bull by mentioning Mariam Farahat. (Note: I’ve edited this because Heidi already posted about it. I could try reading the blog next time.)
Recently Joel Stein had the balls to come out and say “I don’t support the troops.” Liberals are freaked out that one of their own would ‘out’ them, and conservatives are wondering why it took so long for someone to admit it. Let’s not even get into the simple fact that Stein failed miserably at defending any of his positions when confronted on Sean Hannity’s radio show.
For those who absolutely refuse to believe that liberals are anything besides sweetness and light, consider the photos of Cindy Sheehan clinging to Venezuela’s dictator. (She’s an affectionate one, isn’t she? Let’s see…I’ve seen her hanging on all kinds of people. Remember that pic where she’s attached to Jesse Jackson’s back and he looks about as amused as he would be if he had a spiked cattle prod in his bum? Good times, good times.)
Steyn wrapped it all up in a neat package for the thought-impaired:
If you’re opposed to the mission, if you don’t want to see it through, if you’re supporting a position whose success would only demoralize those serving in Iraq and negate their sacrifice, in what sense do you “support the troops”?
Bottom line: Once the Left’s little Paleosimian friends teach them how to make bombs, we’re screwed. Of course, that’s if the illegal immigrants don’t overwhelm us first.

Guard The Borders Blogburst

This first month of 2006 has seen a spate of unprecedented media attention to on-going border breaches such as drug smuggling tunnels and Mexican Army incursions. Deceitful Mexican government officials have disavowed any knowledge of such breaches, instead presenting laughable theories of “American soldiers disguised as Mexicans”. Even our own Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, has covered for the Mexicans by dismissing border incursion as mere navigational “mistakes”. (He’s failed to comment on the gunfire from said “lost” Mexican soldiers.)
No one is fooled. Our border agents continue to risk their lives confronting heavily armed Mexican soldiers and smuggling gangs, while our own American citizens living on the border continue to petition our government for security - to no avail. Two American states, Arizona and New Mexico, have declared a state of emergency in their states, as the financial and societal obligation of caring for illegal immigrants crushes their economy and resources.
In four states, the two above plus Texas and California, the new majority is the Hispanic, though mostly illegal. Such a disparity between law-abiding, tax-paying American citizens has caused the unconscionable situation to develop that the minority now pays for the services and support of the majority.
In the meantime, trillions of American dollars flow out of our economy and into Mexico’s in the form of tax-free cash remittances from illegal labor. These cash disbursements are the largest form of income for the country of Mexico:
Remittances “are our biggest source of foreign income, bigger than oil, tourism or foreign investment,” Fox told reporters after a meeting with Mexican-American businessmen.
“The 20 million Mexicans in the United States generate a gross product that is slightly higher than the $600 billion generated by Mexicans in Mexico,” Fox said, adding that his country has the ninth-largest economy in the world.
“If we could add up the two products, Mexico would be the third or fourth economy in the world,” he said.
Three years later, the number of illegal Mexicans in America is higher than ever, their impact on U.S. social services even more draining, and the free income is flowing ever-faster into Mexico’s coffers. Think of it, their largest source of income costs them nothing in terms of infrastructure, research and development, education, and social services! They export their poorest, neediest citizens (at no cost to themselves) and sit back to wait for the free income to flow. No wonder they feel the need to ease their citizens’ illegal entry into America by providing handbooks and maps - it has a direct impact on their economy! What other income-producing activity could they undergo that would require no construction, no training, no law enforcement, and no responsibilities whatsoever to their citizens? Why would they want to curb a free and very lucrative income? The illegality of it bears no consequences or costs, so the Mexican government has no incentive to fix a system that works wonders for them!
I do not know how much longer we can afford to single-handedly support an entire nation through second-hand disbursements. The trillions of American dollars that boost Mexico’s economy are trillions of dollars not strengthening our own. Possibly even more important, the cultural impact of the burgeoning class of illegals is superseding American traditions and values and having a severe impact on our elections and government.
Our country was founded upon the premise “of the People, by the People, for the People” - and those People are constitutionally meant to be AMERICANS. Yet, foreign interest lobbies are having an ever-increasing detrimental effect on our local, state, and federal government as non-citizens are accorded most of the rights and privileges of American citizenship and garner actual governmental representation. This corruption of the intent of our Constitution has been allowed through the steady erosion of our national sovereignty.
Today, there are an estimated 23 million Mexicans working and living in America, according to Vicente Fox, who claims he is the leader of 123 million citizens: 100 million in Mexico and 23 million in America. Is it any wonder that he and like-minded special interest lobbies feel the RIGHT to demand more and more from our acquiescent government? Americans watch incredulously as they get most of what they demand, at our expense. To our shame, our nation’s government has abdicated our rule of law concerning national sovereignty and national security.
We now have a large foreign presence within our borders that is NOT American, has no intention of ever becoming American, has no regard for American law, nor loyalty to America. This is akin to hosting a nation within a nation - and worse, one that is loyal to a foreign power.
Last week, in a related article, I summarized our current scenario as such:
Let’s recap: we’ve got your basic violent criminals (mafia, drug smugglers, rapists, killers, etc) crossing UNDER our border with impunity…we’ve got heavily armed Mexican military blatantly crossing OVER our border to protect such criminals…firing on American Border Patrol agents to collect $200,000 bounties…plus, we’ve got ongoing sightings of enemy soldiers from other nations, possibly China or North Korea, crossing our border…also firing at our Border Patrol agents…we’ve got Muslim terrorists infiltrating easily and regularly from Mexico…we’ve got Muslim terrorists that have already successfully smuggled in nukes from Mexico…we’ve got American citizens living armed in a border zone that has become lawless…though we are at war, our borders are undefended and breached on a regular basis… our sovereignty as a nation is defiled…and WE’VE GOT AN AMERICAN GOVERNMENT THAT KNOWS ALL OF THE ABOVE AND HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!
Our government today has monumentally failed in its most foundational duties to our lawful citizenry, as guaranteed by our Constitution. There is no doubt in my mind that our conflicted and disloyal elected “leaders” politicians desperately need the following reminder, from President Theodore Roosevelt:
“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all.
We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile. We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language. And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

Sheehan was the latest U.S. activist to appear on Chavez’s Sunday program, where he holds court for five to six hours on topics from baseball and his life in the army to Venezuelan history and oil prices.
“I am convinced with your support … and the support of people all over the world, the war in Iraq will end, our troops will come home, Bush will be impeached and he will be brought to justice,” Sheehan said.
