Changes

December 30, 2005

Since Wordpress 2.0 is out, I’ve upgraded the back end of the website with the new version. However, most of the nifty little tools available (like the recent comments, comment preview, etc.) are plugins that are no longer compatible with the new version of WP.

We’re about to change our design for the new year as well, so I’ve decided not to change over the plugins until I get the new design up and running. As a result, you’ll be looking at a somewhat bare-bones version of ER for the next week or so. If you get any error messages, please let me know exactly what you’re getting. When you email me, make sure you have “Blog Issues” in the subject so my spam filter doesn’t send you to the Ninth Circle of Hell.

Also, if you have anything you’d like to see in Euphoric Reality 4.0, let us know. We might spend more time here than you, but you’re the ones reading. So don’t be shy!

More On The Fatwah Approving Sexual Abuse Of Children

December 30, 2005

Remember when we posted about the despicably vile but mullah-approved Islamic practice of sexual abuse of little girls and infants (as authorized by Shi’ite fatwah)? Oh yeah, if you missed it, you need to go catch up.

A Muslim woman, hounded for her “heresy” in speaking out against this issue, goes to town on this male interviewer’s ass about everything from “pleasure marriages” to female circumcision! It’s a beautiful thing to see. And she ends with a bang (so be sure to watch it all). I was cheering by the end!

Watch the video clip (courtesy of MEMRI TV). The link will open in your media player.

Here’s one of the high points from the transcript:

Interviewer: Some people say that Ghada Jamshir is a Sunni, and that this is why she is leading the battle against (mut’ah) marriages, which are authorized by religious law among the Shiites.>/p>

Ghada Jamshir: Authorized by religious law?!

Interviewer: Among the Shiites, yes.

Ghada Jamshir: Does the Islamic Shari’a authorize mut’ah marriages?! Does the Islamic Shari’a authorize mut’ah according to the following classification: “Pleasure from sexual contact with her thighs.” They have: “Pleasure from sexual touching.” “pleasure from sexual contact with her breasts.” “Pleasure from a little girl.” Do you know what “pleasure from a little girl” means?! It means that they derive sexual pleasure from a girl aged two, three, or four.

Interviewer: Let’s not go into details…

Ghada Jamshir: Let me tell you what “Pleasure from sexual contact with her thighs” means…

Interviewer: Don’t give me the details…

Ghada Jamshir: This is a violation of children’s rights! This constitutes sexual assault of the girl. What does “pleasure from sexual contact with her thighs” mean? It means deriving sexual pleasure from an infant. How old is an infant? One year, a year and a half, a few months?

Is it conceivable for a grown man to have sex with an infant girl? And you people tell me that the Islamic Sharia authorizes this?

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this lady is on a roll and the interviewer barely comprehends that his sorry Arab MALE ass just got kicked. In the end, he can only stutter about heresy, and is shocked - SHOCKED - by her vehement answer.

H/T: BC, The Imperial Torturer (yeah, I know - but they’ve got some great stuff over there that I’m just now catching up on!)

Emporer Misha Tells Katrina “Victims” Where To Go

December 30, 2005

And he damn well means it! (Don’t click on Misha’s link if you can’t handle it - you know who you are!)

As a contributing citizen of the overly generous host city of Houston, who is a little miffed with the marked and notable increase in crime and instability since we opened our doors (80% of ALL crimes in the city are now committed by our unemployed and seemingly bored Katrina guests)…I have a few words to say to our unexpected leeches visitors:

Fish and company stink after three days four months. So…

GET LOST! GET OUT! GO ON. GET A JOB. GET GOING. GET A LIFE. GET OUTTA HERE! BYE.

Oh, yeahhhhh. I said it and I mean it, so bring it on, all you vapid little welfare-state apologists!

BBC: “Huh? Milbloggers?”

December 30, 2005

Someone banged on their collective idiot heads with a cluebat, and the BBC has now noticed that milbloggers are freely commenting on the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Doi.

Considering how quick they are on the uptake…I wonder how long it will take them to figure out that milbloggers (especially all our faves that they interviewed) routinely debunk the BBC’s own onerously biased coverage. Give it another year, maybe.

The U.S. Military Code of Conduct

December 30, 2005

We’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: our servicemen and women are THE BEST in the world - bar none. I’m constantly inspired by the hope and restoration that our troops symbolize and effect around the world.

During World War II, our bubble-gum snapping troops were viewed with unrestrained awe and the gravest gratitude by the skeletons inhabiting the concentration camps of Europe. Never was hope more fervently alive than when whispered rumors circulated that “The Americans are coming!!!” Those same sturdy boys who had endured months of deprivation, shelling, and enemy fire in soggy trenches handled the frail rescuees with a tenderness and care that belied their rough and ready exterior.

In Southeast Asia, the common man and woman were inspired to stand against the ravaging maw of the Communist machine because they just knew with certainty they’d win with the Americans at their side. Neither they, nor our troops, realized until too late that they were destined for betrayal by our Democratic politicians. Our government, led by Democrats, failed the entire region at our military’s expense. Our soldier’s lives and sacrifices were rendered void as Communist corruption ravaged Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam - at the cost of untold suffering and millions of lives. The only thing that could’ve stopped that tide of human suffering was the American fighting man, and our politicians willfully denied that salvation to millions.

Nevertheless, despite the Left’s worst rhetoric, our American troops still signify hope and freedom to people crushed by oppression and genocide - even though these troops are a radically different breed from their veteran counterparts. Today, our cocky and headstrong video gamers, hip-hoppers, college kids, techno geeks, and football stars are universal arbiters of hope as they steadily build freedom in the face of a stealthy, grisly terrorist enemy and despite treacherous Democrats at their backs.

Considering the disparate backgrounds of today’s troops and yesterday’s veterans, it may seem that there is not much in common. Yet there is a thread of honor that binds them all: the U.S. Military Code of Conduct. The six articles of our military’s Code of Coduct are deceptively simple, yet harbor fundamental principles of honor and integrity seldom seen in this day and age. Military personnel are required to memorize and instill this code into their personal and professional lives - and most do. It governs their behavior both in and out of uniform. Some soldiers choose to refuse the Code - the military is, after all, a cauldron of humanity and not a chorus of angels. Yet, for the majority of honorable servicemen and women, the Code binds them in the tradition of their forebears, and remains a hallmark of their excellence above all other military forces.

The Military Code of Conduct is something civilians should look at and understand as well, as it contains admirable tenets applicable in an upstanding citizen’s life. In fact, we could only fruitlessly wish that our own venal politicians would apply such a code of honor.

Article I

I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

Article II

I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

Article III

If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

Article IV

If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.

Article V

When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.

Article VI

I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.

How long until the despicable ACLU gets their grubby paws on this venerable piece of military ethics? And how many politicians can you think of who have already blatantly defiled Article V and VI?

Wordmasters - Epic

December 30, 2005

He was gaunt and he was ghostly; he was grieved and he was loused; he was filthy and he stank; and I loved him.

He died hard, that American fighting man. Not like a dove which when hit, folds its wings gently and comes down quietly. But like a wounded wolf at bay, with lips curled back in a snarl.

He left me with an abiding faith in the future of this nation; a faith that our beloved land will once more know the serenity of hope without fear; a faith in the course of our destiny as a free, prosperous, and happy people.

– General Douglas MacArthur, as quoted by General Alexander M. Haig at the Nixon Library on July 29, 2003.

Dedicated with heartfelt remembrance to MGySgt Darrell W. Boatman

Where Have We Been?

December 29, 2005

We’ve been slacking. We admit it. But here’s the deal.

Don Hall, the man you all learned about in Brother Against Brother, has decided to up the ante. He’s come out with new allegations against the men of Team 24, and you won’t believe them. If you thought his claims were crazy before, wait until you see the new ones. I’ll tell you this much: If you love our troops and don’t like people smearing them, you’re going to be quite angry at this. If you already know the story of Team 24, you’ll be even more upset at what Hall has decided to accuse them of now.

We’ve been responding to his comments as they appear, but these new accusations need to be dealt with in a different manner: Openly, publicly, and with another mountain of irrefutable evidence. Heidi and I have dug back into our documents, got back in touch with our old sources and contacted new ones, and we’re working on a new piece that will address the all-new allegations. We’re pretty excited about it, and of course, we have some surprise evidence in store for you. (It just wouldn’t be fun without the extra surprises, would it?)

In other news, Heidi and I will be meeting for the first time next week! After almost a year of blogging together and becoming best friends, we’ll finally be blogging from the same room. Perhaps the best part of Heidi’s visit will be our trip up to Missouri to visit Gary Linderer and his wife. It’s my third trip, but Heidi’s first time meeting Gary. We’re all excited, and we’ll be sure to bring you updates from the Operation Homecoming offices in Branson!

So, stay tuned. We promise it will all be worth it.

A Thing Of Beauty

December 28, 2005

The Raptor, ladies and gentleman.

Now I don’t pretend to know much about aviation - that’s Kit’s thing - but I know a lovely weapon when I see it. :)

H/T to the Officer’s Club for posting on the Raptor a few weeks ago. It gave me the idea to hunt down some of our own very jet porn cool photos.

NOLA Police Does Their Job For Once, MSM Cries Foul

December 28, 2005

NOLA police shot and killed a man after he threatened them with a knife in a videotaped standoff. The man not only refused to put down the knife, even after being maced by the officers, but he then lunged at one of the policemen, who then promptly ended his life.

So what’s the big deal?

MSNBC is trying to turn this into the next Rodney King. I wonder how long it will take for someone to mention the fact that there were white officers involved and the suspect was a black man. It just happened…give it some time.

Check out this exchange between MSNBC and the NOLA Chief of Police in the Totally Exclusive Interview(tm):

JANE VELEZ-MITCHELL, GUEST HOST: I guess a lot of people are simply wondering why this man had to die. Why didn’t the police just incapacitate him?

CHIEF WARREN RILEY, NEW ORLEANS POLICE DEPARTMENT: Why didn’t we incapacitate him?

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Shoot him in the leg, for example.

RILEY: Well, I think our officers gave him every opportunity and every option to put the weapon down. We used force other than our weapons, as it relates to using the mace, which had no effect on the subject. Officers were extremely patient, giving him verbal instructions numerous times, until the person actually raised the knife and lunged at a police officer, at which time he was shot.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I don’t want to sound like I’m second guessing because it’s easy to ask questions sitting in a chair here. You’re out there in the field. A lot of people are wondering why not shoot him in the leg, or for example, taser guns? I understand that your department, the officers do not carry taser guns. Why not?

Because if they’re not dead, they can still kill you, oh Jane of the nonexistent logical powers. Notice that she says herself, “I don’t want to sound like I’m second guessing,” yet she plunges right on anyway, doing exactly that.

The moral of this story is, as long as you pretend to care and fake having a clue, you can say what you like and all the moonbats will cheer because they’re not bright enough to know any better. Wait. Code Pink already taught us that.

Never mind.

Ponder this powerful legacy for 2006…

Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.
-John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Inaugural Address, January 20, 1961

I’m Back!

December 28, 2005

Ahhhh….EuphoricReality.net…home sweet home.

Hi y’all! I’m glad to be back. Having successfully weathered an entire week in the mountains of Montana without phone OR internet, I am now ready to catch up on what’s happening in the world, and thusly endow the blogosphere with my opinion on it all.

Yeah, except I gotta do laundry first…

And get some groceries…

And pick up the Boxers from their doggie-spa…

But after that, I will unleash. Mwah hahahahaha!

Operation Homecoming 2006: Exclusive Update

December 27, 2005

Operation Homecoming is, quite simply, the place for Vietnam veterans to be honored. Last year, at “Welcome Home … America’s Tribute to Vietnam Veterans” in Branson, Missouri, Operation Homecoming hosted 28,000 Vietnam vets and their families. There were concerts, military aircraft flyovers, helicopter rides, fishing and golf tournaments, and much more. A few units even held their reunions there.

The stories posted on their website from attendees speak of a sense of healing and camaraderie, and the event helped thousands of veterans find lost brothers and be honored for their service, forty years later.

This year, Operation Homecoming promises to be bigger and better. The organizer is none other than Gary Linderer, who y’all are quite familiar with if you read this blog with any frequency. I’ve seen the list of events and entertainers for this year’s bash, and I can promise you there will not be a party this awesome anywhere else this year.

I can’t give out everything I know just yet, but I can tell you that the Branson Daily News has released a news article about the upcoming event with some tidbits. They don’t say hardly anything, really, but I know more and better details will be coming out later. There will be HUGE name entertainers, Vietnam-era bands, a weapons range, chopper rides, golf, fishing, a parade for ALL the veterans, you name it. I know the list of entertainers, and believe me when I say it’s gonna be the bash of the year.

The event is to be held June 11-18, 2006, and both Heidi and I will be attending. I’m not lying when I say this will be the highlight of our year. We will finally be meeting in person all the surviving members of Team 24, as well as the rest of the men from F/58 Infantry and L/75 Rangers. We can’t get much more excited.

We will be the best source for updates and insider info as the event gets closer, so make sure to stay tuned!! You don’t need to be a Vietnam veteran to attend, but you do need to love America and her troops! Not only will Vietnam-era vets be there, but present-day Rangers and other troops will be attending as well. This is a great chance to show our troops - past AND present - that we support them always.

Back in the Saddle

December 26, 2005

I’m full of food and finally caught up on sleep, and now that I’ve had a few hours to play Age of Empires III, I’m ready to hit the blogging again. Let’s start off with a few quick things from the holiday:

Blackfive caught this article at the WaPo Op-Ed page about milbloggers and Christmas.

Andi brings us the firsthand view of Christmas at Walter Reed. She was there, and she’s got pics. She also tells me in email that Joshua Sparling will be receiving his Bronze Star from President Bush later this week. Andi’s husband is deployed and so she can always use a bit of love at her site.

While you’re at Andi’s check out this piece of dog turd, put out by our Commie-loving nemeses at Code Pink. They say they support the troops, but I think you’ll see once you read this, nothing could be further from the truth.

The Wall Street Journal has a story about how troops in Baghdad celebrated the holiday. (source Mudville)

Hope your Christmas was beautiful and filled with much love and happiness. And if you took the day off from reading the blogs yesterday, then welcome back. =)
